Extent Description:
Dataset contains simulations in an idealized upper ocean domain spanning 20km x 20km x 160m. These snapshots extend over days 2 to 11 of the simulation.

Abstract:

These data are a wind, wave, and cooling forced simulation of two fronts in the upper ocean. The fronts are initialized in thermal wind balance. These are snapshots from the simulations analyzed in Hamlington et al. 2014, Smith et al. 2016, and Suzuki et al. 2016.

Purpose:

These simulations examine the upper ocean physics of a turbulent boundary layer.
