Abstract:

This dataset lists the bulk stable isotope values (delta-13C and delta-15N) for tissue samples collected in 2011 to 2014 for the Seaside Sparrow project within the Coastal Waters Consortium. These samples were analyzed at the University of Windsor (Windsor, ON, Canada). Information gathered at the time of collection for each sample in this dataset can be found in the 2011-2014 Sample Key (GRIIDC R4.x264.000:0015) by referencing the DATABASE ID. Additional dataset authors are Sabrina Taylor, Philip Stouffer, Stefan Woltmann and R. Eugene Turner.

Purpose:

This dataset summarizes the bulk stable isotope values (for delta-13C and delta-15N) of Seaside Sparrows in southern Louisiana salt marshes. For each sample, the delta-13C values are indicators of energy sources, and delta-15N values indicate trophic position. Therefore, these data can be used to understand trophic interactions of Seaside Sparrows in these salt marshes.
