Abstract:

This dataset includes high speed flow visualizations, digital inline holography (and corresponding droplet size distributions), and particle image velocimetry (PIV) data of crude oil jets and plumes subjected to crossflow in a towing tank. The crude oil mixed with the dispersant Corexit 9500A at various dispersant to oil ratios of 1:100 and 1:25.

Purpose:

To investigate the behavior of immiscible crude oil plumes in crossflow.
