Abstract:

This study examined the influence of oil exposure on group dynamics in Atlantic croaker. Wild caught live croaker were collected and placed into one of 3 treatment groups; control, mixed, or oil. Mixed and oil groups were conducted using a high and low oil dose. Groups were then placed in an arena and 10 minute recording of movements were taken and assessed for velocity, distance moved, distance to closest neighbor, and distance to the wall. Purpose:

To investigate how oil exposure may influence group shoaling behavior.
