Abstract:

The G05 cruise was designed to measure the concentration of a chemical tracer in August 2013 that had been released in July-August 2012 on the GISR G02 Cruise. The data set contains the shipboard 75Khz and 300Khz ADCP and cruise documentation.

Purpose:

This is ancillary data that gives additional information about the physical state of the ocean during the cruise.

Data Parameters and Units:

GISR_G05_ADCP: [GISR_G05_ADCP_75Khz Profiles and plots for the 75Khz ADCP, GISR_G05_ADCP_300Khz Profiles and plots for the 300Khz ADCP] netCDF files-- time (date time UTC YYYYMMDDHHMMSS), latitude (degree), longitude (degree), transducer depth (m), sea water velocity [eastward, northward, upward (m/s) , bathymetry (m).

Methods:

netCDF file are encoded using "NODC_NetCDF_TrajectoryProfile_Orthogonal_Template_v1.0"

Instruments:

Shipboard Acoustic Doppler Current Profiles (ADCP) from a 75Khz and 300Khz profiler and plots.
