Abstract:

Time series data of currents, temperature, and salinity from instruments located at various depths on six moorings deployed from July 2012 to July 2013 in the region near the DeepWater Horizon spill event. Moorings were deployed on GISR Cruise G01, recovered and redeployed on GISR Cruise G04. Related data (hydrography and underway) appear in related but separate data submissions. Instruments include ADCP, single-point current meters (RCM4, S4) and StarOD and Seabird temperature and salinity recorders.

Purpose:

To make Eulerian time series measurements in the region where tracers were released during GISR Cruise G02 and characterize the subregional currents and hydrography over a multi-year period.
