Abstract:

Coupled atmosphere-wave-ocean modeling of the entire Gulf of Mexico during July through August 2012. Atmosphere model: Weather Research and Forecasting model (WRF) Wave model: University of Miami Wave Model (UMWM) Ocean model: Hybrid Coordinate Model (HYCOM) This dataset comprises the surface data from atmospheric component (WRF). This dataset was created by the Consortium for Advanced Research on Transport of Hydrocarbon in the Environment (CARTHE). This research was made possible by a grant from BP/The Gulf of Mexico Research Initiative.

Purpose:

This dataset provide high-resolution (4km) atmospheric surface fields throughout GLAD experiment, and can be used to 1) understand the atmospheric condition during GLAD and 2) drive other wave, ocean, storm surge, and LES models.
