Abstract:

Time series photographs of 5 Snowcam/Fluxcam mooring deployments obtained from a marine snow profiling camera. Vertical profiles of size specific particle abundance were taken near lease blocks GC600 (profiles 1-2) OC26 (profiles 3-5) in Green Canyon and the Mississippi Canyon, respectively.

Purpose:

This camera system records size specific particle abundance in the water column during single casts. Camera is lowered at preset speed (10m/min) to just above the seafloor while taking an image every 11 seconds.
