Abstract:

This dataset is made up of high definition digital images of corals in the northern Gulf of Mexico at sites at sites in the Mississippi Canyon and the Atwater Valley (Lease blocks: MC344, MC297, MC294, and AT357). These images were collected as a part of cruises FK006b-leg1 and FK006b-leg2 on board the R/V Falkor in November 2012 utilizing the ROV Global Explorer.

Purpose:

The purpose of this study was to track progression of visible impact of oil exposure to individual corals and to the coral community at sites MC344, MC297, MC294, and AT357.
