GRIIDC Participates in 2020 Gulf of Mexico Alliance Tools Café

GRIIDC will be participating in the virtual 2020 Gulf of Mexico Alliance (GOMA) Tools Café, or “Tool Time with Dave,” October 20, 2020 at 2 p.m. Central/3 p.m. Eastern.

The Gulf of Mexico Alliance
The Gulf of Mexico Alliance (GOMA) is a Regional Ocean Partnership for the Gulf of Mexico, which was designated by the Governors of all five Gulf States: Alabama, Florida, Louisiana, Mississippi, and Texas. Over the last 15 years, GOMA has been instrumental in increasing collaboration between the states in order to “enhance the environmental and economic health of the Gulf of Mexico.” The network includes 150 organizations and almost 1,000 members from state and federal agencies, academia, non-profits, and businesses.

GOMA Tools Café
GRIIDC is excited to participate in this year’s virtual GOMA Tool’s Café in order to share our user-friendly data repository. Rosalie Rossi, GRIIDC Program Manager, will be presenting about GRIIDC and showcasing our latest updates. One of the most heavily used features on our site is the Search feature, known as Data Discovery, which allows users to search for datasets using a combination of search terms, geographic areas, and research group filters. Rossi will demonstrate some of the new features such as advanced search terms, getting more relevant results, DOI and UDI matching, and advanced filters.

Other featured tools, such as the The Deepwater Horizon Project Tracker and Gulf TREE, are meant to help stakeholders make educated decisions on vital issues in the Gulf such as coastal resilience, data management, flood mapping, habitat assessment.
